POEM BITS : Green Into Brown
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Crackle leaves beneath feet
once stood above so tall
dangling dainty from the branches
almost mocking in their pose
winds change colors fade
dropping downward spiral
further down they go.
you walk on
you walk on
never looking down
never knowing
you are the destroyer
you are the problem
you are the leaves that turn brown
you will have your day
you will fall
you will crackle with death
and blow dust in the wind
days go by and days go by
green into brown
getting closer to the ground.
